2018 Jack Frost Festival Calendar of Events

1 November to 30 November - WIMI/WJMS radio Business Window Decorating Contest. Entry forms are at the Chamber office, Chamber webpage, or WIMI/WJMS office. All entries due by Friday, 23 November. Winners announced on “Frost Friday,” 30 November.

1 October to 30 November - Ironwood Area Business & Professional Women’s Club 50/50 Raffle. Tickets ($1 each) are available at Chief Oil Co., Makela, Pollack, & Ahonen Accounting, Hitt’s Fine Furniture, and any IABPW member. Drawing on November 30 (“Frost Friday”) at Brewster’s Northwoods Bar and Grill, 9:00 p.m.

1 October to 1 December - Ironwood Chamber of Commerce $10,000 Jack Frost Raffle. Tickets ($100.00 each—only 200 printed) are available at the Chamber Historic Ironwood Depot Office, by mail request to P.O. Box 45, Ironwood, MI, and at Chelsi’s Corner, downtown Ironwood.

14 November -- Old Depot Tree Lighting Ceremony at Depot park commencing at 6:00 p.m. Post ceremony refreshments and 1905 reed organ carol sing-along at the Ironwood Chamber Depot office. Special appearance and music by Luther L. Wright High School Chorus members.

23 November -- Jack Frost Parade Entries Due at the Chamber Depot office. Entry forms available at the Chamber, or by mail, or from the chamber webpage. NO ONE WILL BE ALLOWED ENTRY INTO THE PARADE AFTER THIS CLOSING REGISTRATION DATE.

23 November -- Business Window Decorating Contest Entries Due at the Chamber Depot office or at WJMS/WIMI studios at 222 S. Lawrence St., Ironwood, MI

24 November -- Warren Miller’s “The Face of Winter” film at the Historic Ironwood Theatre, 7:30 p.m.

30 November -- St. Vincent De Paul Customer Appreciation Day from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Stop in at 216 West Aurora Street, Ironwood, for cookies, coffee, and treats!

30 November -- Jack Frost Festival Radio Broadcast live from Chelsi’s Corner, downtown Ironwood, from 9:00 until noon. Anna Breiler of WUPM Radio, 106.9, will host guests from a variety of the Jack Frost Festival events.

30 November -   “Frost Friday” in Downtown Ironwood – features strolling caroler groups, in-store craft vendors, stores open late, award announcement for Business Window Decorating Contest, IABPW 50/50 raffle drawing, & more happenings.

1 December -- Reading of the Christmas Story at Heritage Christian Book and Gifts, 610 Ayer Street, 10:00 a.m. Treats, refreshments, and music by the Genisot family.

1 December – Jack Frost $10,000 raffle drawing at Chelsi’s Corner, 110 East Aurora Street between 2:00 pm and 3:00 p.m.

1 December -- Santa and Mrs. Claus will be in residence at River Valley Bank form 3:00 to 5:00 p.m.  

1 December -- Movie: “The Polar Express” at the Historic Ironwood Theatre, 4:00 pm.

1 December --   Jack Frost Festival of Lights Parade at 6:00 in downtown Ironwood.

1 December --   Gogebic Range Concert Band performs after the Festival of Lights Parade in the Historic Ironwood Theatre at about 7:15 p.m.

7 December -- The Claudettes perform at the Historic Ironwood Theatre at 7:00 p.m.

8 December --   Tree of Love Lighting Ceremony at Aspirus Grand View Hospital, 6:30 p.m.

8 December -- The Claudettes perform at the Historic Ironwood Theatre at 7:00 p.m.

9 December -- The Claudettes perform at the Historic Ironwood Theatre at 2:00 p.m.

15 December -- Fire-on-the-Hill Snowcross Racing at Mt. Zion, Ironwood. Registration at Maplewood Restaurant from 10-4 on Friday; Saturday racing starts at 10:00 a.m. Admission is $5 with kids under 12 free.

15 December -- Chamber Singers Christmas Concert will be at 7:00 at Our Lady of Peace Church, Ironwood.

16 December - Chamber Singers Christmas Concert will be at 4:00 at Our Lady of Peace Church, Ironwood.

29 December -- Pro Vintage Snowmobile Race will be at the Gogebic County Fairgrounds, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.
