Black River Harbor
Nestled on the Edge of the Porcupine Mountains and the Ottawa National Forest, Beautiful Black River Harbor hosts a variety of outdoor activities and many waterfalls. ACTIVITIES Camping Black River Campsite is located just south of black river harbor and is right in the middle of many waterfalls and hiking trails. Saxon Harbor
Saxon Harbor is located just across the the Michigan/Wisconsin boarder 5 miles west of Little Girls Point. Saxon Harbor is home to its famous sand beach with a newly remodeled boat harbor.
Norrie Park
Norrie Park is a 105 acre park located on Norrie Park Road. This park is along the Montreal River, and is equipped with picnic tables, grills, restrooms, two horseshoe pits, plaground equipment, community gardens, pavilion, and an ADA compliant fishing platform. Norrie Park also has a paved bike trail that runs alongside the river and additional walking trails at the south end of the park.
Little Girls Point
Little Girls Point County Park is a local gem, located in Ironwood Township. Little Girls Point has much potential and beauty which makes Little Girls Point a favorite destination for many. Little Girls Point has a beautiful and very unique beach covered in perfectly rounded rocks formed by lake Superiors destructive waves. This beach is great for rock and agate collectors.
Lake Gogebic
Lake Gogebic is Michigan's largest inland lake. Within its waters can be found walleye, small mouth bass, northern pike, perch, and whitefish. The shoreline is home to several individual cabin resorts, as well as restaurants and true "U.P." bars. You can rent a pontoon or fishing boad, canoe or kayak from both the resort lodges as well as outdoor outfitter businesses. Want to learn more? Porcupine Mountains
Located in the northern section of the Ottawa National Forest, the Porcupine Mountains are a must-see adventure location. Many miles of hiking and biking trails can be found, as well as waterfalls, lakes, Lake Superior shoreline camping, and (in winter) great skiiing! The Presque Isle campground is located 17 miles north of Wakefield, MI at the west end of the Porcupine Mt. State Park, and features over 44 campsites on Lake Superior with drinking water, restrooms, and Lake Superior swimming. Copper Peak
Take the Copper Peak Adventure Ride! Ride the chair lift up 810 feet to the top of Copper Peak--the world's largest ski jump! From the top, a view of unsurpassed beauty awaits. Climb to the observation deck, and look out over Lake Superior and the hills and valleys of land that surround it. Visit our guide office, where historic photographs and artifacts display the long history of ski jumping in the U.P. A trip to Ironwood is never complete without taking the lift to the top of Copper Peak.
Gile Park
Located in Gile Wisconsin on the Gile Flowage, the Gile Park is a local favorite fishing, canoeing, and kayaking destination. Many species of fish and in abundant numbers makes the Gile Flowage an excellent place to fish. The Gile Flowage is littered with many islands which makes it perfect for a camping adveture!
