Ironwood Carnegie Library

235 E. Aurora St
Ironwood, MI 49938

The Ironwood Carnegie Library is the oldest continually operating Carnegie Library in Michigan.  Built in 1901 through the support of Andrew Carnegie, the famous iron and steel magnate who made much of his fortune from ownership of our local Ironwood area mines, the library is on the National Historic Register and boasts much of its original charm, including its front desk, woodwork, iron grates, and radiators.  Twenty-first century technology, resources, programming for all ages, and a cheerful children and teen area make this historic library a busy and valued cornerstone of our local community.

The library is open Monday and Friday from 9am to 5pm; Tuesday and Thursday from noon to 6pm; and Saturday from 9am to noon.   Follow our active Facebook page for program notices and pictures of our events!  https://www.facebook.com/IronwoodCarnegie
