Lake Gogebic is Michigan’s largest inland lake.  Within its waters can be found walleye, small mouth bass, northern pike, perch, and whitefish.  The shoreline is home to several individual cabin resorts, as well as restaurants and true “U.P.” bars.  You can rent a pontoon or fishing boat, canoe or kayak from both the resort lodges as well as outdoor outfitter businesses.  Want to learn more?  Go to www.lakegogebicarea.com   or, if you are a first-time visitor to the area, stop in at the Ottawa Visitor Center.  Located on the corner of U.S. 2 and Highway 45 at Watersmeet, MI, this Visitor Center offers a variety of informational programs and weekly outdoor programs.  Complete with a full gift shop and wildlife exhibits, the Center is open from 9-5 daily.
