Jack Frost Tree Lighting

Well, still no snow, but Mr. Jack Frost has promised (again) that today, November 12, 2021, we will see appreciable snow starting this afternoon.  I sure hope he keeps his promise, because next Thursday, November 18, at 6:00 p.m. here in Depot park, will be the Jack Frost Tree Lighting Ceremony, which marks the start of the Jack Frost Festival Season running from Nov. 18 to January 31–a time of parade, lights, snowmobile races, SISU Ski Fest, and all-around Jack Frost Wintertime and Christmas happenings.  Come and gather around the Jack Frost tree on Thursday, 18 November!  We will have a couple of (short) speeches (from the Chamber guy and from Ironwood Mayor Kim Corcoran) as well as seasonal vocal selections by the LLW High School Choir.  Afterwards, come into the Depot for all kinds of eating treats and a couple of verses of “O Christmas Tree” played on the 1905 reed organ.  Sure hope it is all white and wonderful next Thursday!
