Upper Peninsula Glory

June is here!  For the next 3 months, all that is wonderful about the U.P. in flower, trails, waterfalls, and beaches will be on display.  Sunsets at 9:00 p.m. (or later!); looking for agates and Yooperlites on the Lake Superior Shore, stream and lake fishing, hiking the North Country Trail, biking the Iron Belle Trail, Fourth of July weekend festivals and fireworks in nearby Bessemer, Ramsay, Wakefield, and Lake Gogebic, the great and wonderful Festival Ironwood Days (July 13-16)–a time and landscape full of both activity and room for contemplation and re-set of life’s rhythms.  If you have never been U.P. here, this is the time to come.  It is an amazing place with room for you to both grow a bit in experiences and thought.  Already in the Chamber Depot office I have met people from WA, FL, MO, MN, WI, TN, and other states!  Now is the time to get out, readjust life’s ways-of-seeing, and U.P.end the normal through entering the amazing landscape that is the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.   See you soon!  [Photo is of Annika Andresen watching the sun set from the top of Ironwood’s Mt. Zion, right next to Gogebic Community College]
