Building the Future

The Ironwood Chamber of Commerce is always looking ahead to see how we can help develop the next generation of entrepreneurs, craftsmen, producers, and service folks.  On Thursday, 23 February, the Chamber will be cooperating with Gogebic Community College and Michigan Works! to host the annual Career Exploration Day for Gogebic and Iron County high school Junior and Senior students.  Over 45 businesses will be represented, and an extremely wide array of vocational careers will be presented to the 325 students attending.   From construction trades and IT through medical, hospitality, and manufacturing, students will learn about careers that are available right now here in the Western Upper Peninsula.  Key to the presenting of this Career Exploration Day is the emphasis that it is not always necessary to move out of our area to pursue the vocation of your interest–we have many possibilities right here!
